I’m Lucy Tyrrell and I treat dogs throughout London and Surrey. I am also one of the tutors for Galen Myotherapy, teaching the practical part of the Diploma as well as part of the IQA (internal quality assurance) team. I am the proud owner of three westies, Maisie, Betty and Peggy and a Westiepoo called Marge. Both Maisie and Marge form part of the tutor team for the practical part of the diploma; something that they take very seriously! In my ‘previous life’ I was a teacher and senior management in a primary school but decided it was time for a change! I knew I wanted to work with dogs in a way that would positively impact their quality of life. I came across Galen Therapy Centre, visited Julia, observed some treatments and haven’t looked back. I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I signed onto the diploma course and got studying.

I now work full time as a Galen Myotherapist and have treated hundreds of dogs in all shapes and sizes; each one special and unique. I am passionate about Positive PACT - working alongside the dog and their human; allowing them the autonomy to decided where and how I treat. Watching the changes in the dogs is just amazing and humbling. To think I can help a dog in chronic pain and struggling to walk become a dog that is enjoying being a dog again, is what it is all about. I also really strive to get the owners as involved in the treatments as possible. I think everyone should know about Galen Myotherapy! So as and when I can, I love to spread the word. I have written articles for newsletters and blogs and run workshops a few times a year. I also use social media to share a bit about what I do and the impact it can have.
