Liz McCormick

Hello, I'm Liz McCormick and I am based in Newcastle upon Tyne where I offer a mobile service throughout the North East of England. I live with my husband, two dogs (a Labrador and a Lab cross), and three black cats who keep me busy.

My journey working with dogs began when I brought home my first dog, Theo and I struggled to find dog-centred services to meet his needs. That led me start my own dog walking business in 2018, focused on understanding and treating every dog as an individual. With a background in psychology and social work, I was drawn to the emotional and relational aspects of working with animals - how they communication, learn and connect.

As I worked more closely with dogs, I began noticing that many behavioural challenges were linked to physical discomfort or pain. This began to reshape my path, leading me learn about canine massage and ultimately to train as a Galen Myotherapist.

I chose to train with Galen Myotherapy because of Positive PACT. It aligned perfectly with my own values and ethos of allowing dogs autonomy and choice, taking care of their emotional wellbeing alongside their physical comfort.

I feel genuinely honoured to work with dogs and their guardians, building trusting relationships and improving quality of life. For me myotherapy is not just about relieving discomfort, it's about allowing dogs and their families to enjoy their adventures for as long as possible.
