Emily Buchanan

Hello, I’m Emily. I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 20 years experience in practice. After going through multiple orthopaedic surgeries with my own rescue dogs and dealing with arthritis and long term mobility issues from an owners perspective I felt that I could be doing more to help both the animals and their owners. I learnt how effective therapeutic massage, exercise and laser therapy can be to help with all kinds of issues, and after seeing the benefits in my own dogs I decided to use these skills in my work and so Curly Tails Canine Rehab was born!

I now treat dogs and other pets with a combination of Galen Myotherapy, Class 4 laser therapy and targeted exercises. I enjoy treating all kinds of patients and have a particular passion for helping older pets enjoy their senior years in comfort as well as rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery. As the owner of a dog in wheels I also have a special interest in helping paraplegic and disabled pets live full lives. As an Elite Level Fear Free Certified Professional I strongly believe that the best results come from treating with kindness and empathy, I use positive reinforcement allowing my patients choice in their treatment, allowing them to feel safe and relaxed. I provide a home visit service in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
