I have always had an interest in dogs, and growing up I had the pleasure of living with a variety of different breeds and sizes as my parents fostered homeless, unwanted and lost dogs until they were either found permanent homes or returned to their owners.I had always known that at some point I would like to do something involving dogs and it was whilst attending a veterinary clinic’s open day / dog show with my now 5yr old cross-breed terrier that I met Caroline Zuber from Galen, I was impressed by her depth of knowledge and professionalism and after some discussion I knew that this is what I wanted to do.

I completed the Anatomy and Physiology course and then went onto do the Galen Canine Massage Diploma which is an intensive and challenging, high level, externally accredited course covering both the theoretical and practical aspects of massage therapy. Since being on the course I have been able to explore my natural affinity with dogs that I always felt I had, as they seem to respond to me in a positive way. This empathy I have with dogs has been such a benefit when I have been treating dogs with Myotherapy and I have already had some really visible results. Upon gaining my Galen diploma I was pleased to be invited to join such a professional team of Myotherapists. Recently I have been treating dogs of various ages and breeds with issues of Hip Dysplasia, Osteoarthritis and Muscular tension; it has been so rewarding to see a positive response to treatment both within the physical improvements of mobility issues and also the psychological benefits that this improved mobility has on the dog.

Please note that due to some health issues I'm currently not treating dogs, and instead support Galen Therapy through education. I'm one of the key tutors taking a leading role in student support, and also Level 4 IQA for practical sessions.
