Service Description

This course will help you to identify muscular dysfunction and how this could impact on a dog’s comfort and subsequent behaviour. You will learn what global muscle domination means and why it is important to be able to recognise and understand the impact that this can have from a total health perspective. The CPD will also outline the vital role of fascia and the part it plays within a dog’s physical and mental health. As a paraprofessional, you will then be able to aid better fascial connections by integrating appropriate movements within your programmes that will positively act on a dog’s posture. Throughout the course we will be taking an in-depth look at examples of postural and muscular dysfunction, including your dog or possibly a dog you are working with. During the course we will be sharing other clients information from a musculoskeletal perspective. No guardians names will be used and dog’s names can be changed if you wish. We will be critically assessing how aspects of their posture and loading can offer you an invaluable insight into their physical and psychological health. After completing both sessions, you have the option to complete a postural assessment to become a certified Galen Myotherapy trained "Foundational Posture Analyst". This certification lasts a year and enables you to use a dedicated logo and title, after which there is an opportunity to renew your Galen Myotherapy trained "Foundational Posture Analyst" status. You can do this by completing a short online training and re-assessment (£50). WHO IS THIS CPD SUITABLE FOR?
